ChordNames

Chord names used in GNU Solfege

Chord names and chord abbreviations are a complex matter. There are many ways to name chords. And the fact that English language is not GNU Solfeges authors first language does not make things easier.

This page was created while trying to cleanup the way we use chord names in Solfege.

This page is not the final word on how to name chords. Please email solfege-devel@lists.sourceforge.net if you want to discuss things.

Entries marked with bold text are undescided. You are welcome to provide comments on this page or on the mailing list.
