Solfege /
AdCommentsI am experimenting a little with the ad placement. While I understand that ads are annoying, they also make it possible for me to spend as much time as I do on developing Solfege. So I am moving things around to see what works best and at the same time is not too annoying. Right now, there is only ads on the front page and the download page. Please edit this page and add a comment to the bottom of the page if you think I'm getting too greedy and placing too much ads on the pages, or if you want to share an opinion about web ads with us. There is also the page Solfege.WebSite that I sometimes use to make notes about this website. I think ads are not so annoying; they are quite on-topic. There's still a bit of a graphical glitch: the ad frame has room for 3 advertissements, and it contains 4. This causes the text to scroll up/down when you roll the mousewheel over it. It makes the ads feel less professional than the rest of the website - which has temendously improved over the last month. There are currently 2 ad frames on some pages. This is really too much IMHO. I think it would be better to have one bigger than two small ones.
I never see that problem with too many ads in a frame. What browser are you using? Btw, the click-through-rate for the ads has gone down by 60-70% it seems when I moved the ad to the right. I'll wait some days, but most likely I have to place the ad somewhere else. TomCato It's nog just the solfege site, I noticed. Others site have the same odd ad display. I'm using the mozilla 1.7.6-1 debian package. Mailed you a screenshot earlier today |
