Remarks

This page does not desribe the current implementation. It was a draft used for discussion. Parts of it has been implemented.

Remarks

Flexibility

The more I work on this draft, the more modularized - and flexible - things tend to become.

One of the strengths of this concept is that one leveldirectory does not have to use the same 'exercise' for each level. For example, the topic on Minor and Major uses these exercise modules: ID-by-name, melodic intervals, harmonic interval, compare intervals.

exams

The same system can be used to make an exam: a content index with no theory links, no exercise links, only test links, with a strict configuration: run every test only once, don't allow jumping between tests...

default content index

Solfege must have at least a few topics, to demonstrate how the new exercise setup works.

Solfege will still be used by autodidacts. Therefor, solfege should be setup so that the user can move to any level she wants, without having to take do tests in easier levels.

The default content index could have these categories:

  • Topics
    • The id-by-note series.
    • The chord series.
    • ...
  • Single lessonfiles: lessonfiles like they are used today (version 2.4 and older)
  • A separate section could be made for lessonfiles / exercises / topics that are under development
